Botanical Cyanotype Workshop

Join us at Ground on Friday, September 4 for a Botanical Cyanotype Workshop—an immersive introduction to the art of sun printing. Dating back to 1872, cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic processes, known for its rich blue tones and striking botanical impressions. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of cyanotype using natural materials. We’ll explore a range of techniques and examples on paper, fabric, and other surfaces before you create your own prints using a curated selection of flowers and botanical elements. You’ll leave with your finished pieces, along with guidance on how to mount and display them. All materials, botanicals, and tools are provided, as well as a workshop guide for reference and note-taking. This workshop is an invitation to slow down, observe plants more closely, and engage with nature through both art and process—capturing the fleeting beauty of the season in a lasting form.
